How do I know if I can trust a betting service?

With so many gambling services and “tipsters” out there, it can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack when trying to find a trustworthy service.

Here is a checklist for how to distinguish between a genuine service that will benefit you, and one that is just after your money.

Posting bets in advance

Not posting bets in advance, or “aftertiming”, is a prime example of the tricks these dodgy tipsters will use.

Posting winning betslips after the event is useless, and these photos could be easily manipulated.

Any good service will have timestamped bets posted before the event. You can see this from our Instagram @expectedprofitnet – each post has a timestamp, and we have a P+L pinned story to track our bets.

Do they have a financial interest in your success?

Almost all of the time here, the answer is no.

The norm across the industry is to collect a fixed subscription fee from members, and then leave them to their devices once they have paid.

We separate ourselves by charging nothing up front, and instead only charge 20% of your winnings (and only if you reach a certain milestone).

Basically, if you don’t succeed, we don’t get paid!

This is how we show you how confident we are that you will profit, and how willing we are to work with you and provide as much help as you need along your journey!

Are they mathematical and price sensitive?

Any good service should mention the minimum profitable odds of a bet. If you can’t get these odds or better you are losing value betting on it.

Some useless services just give a tip without this. It’s the equivalent of ordering in a restaurant without looking at the menu prices.

At Expected Profit, we tell you the % margin you have over the bookie, what the true price should be , and what your expected profit is.

Do they want to educate you?

The services to avoid generally want you to understand as little as possible, as educated gamblers can tell they are not a valuable service.

The good services offer free resources (such as our PDF) and free services (such as ours).

We also provide tutorials and guide you through exactly how to use the service. We encourage questions any time you are unsure – we want you to win long term, and want you to learn along the way!

Do they limit client numbers?

It’s a huge red flag if they don’t.

If a threshold of activity is reached on a bet, bookmakers will assume that the accounts are connected. They will stop offering promos to these accounts, as well as cutting the price of the bet you were tipped! This is what happens when a service tells large numbers of people to bet on the same thing.

With over 2 decades experience in the market, we calculate these thresholds.

With our low limit on client numbers, we protect the longevity of your betting journey, as well as having the time to offer you a bespoke services and guide you along the way.
